Many new initiates of tea enthusiasts may still be unfamiliar with the term "Qinggan", what is Qinggan? Is good material just good clay for a long time? And so on, all these questions about Qinggan, Xiaohua has heard before. Today we will discuss why purple sand materials need to undergo Qinggan! What is Qinggan? Qinggan means that after the raw material is crushed and sieved, mixed with water etc., it becomes the final product.
Many new beginners may still be unfamiliar with the term "old". What is old? Is good clay just old clay for a long time? And so on, questions about old small flowers have heard many times, today we'll talk to you about why purple sand needs to go through the process of aging.
What is rotten?
Decantation, namely the crushed ore through a series of processes such as screening, mixing with water, to obtain the final product. The matured mud is placed in a cool and humid place under certain conditions of moisture and temperature, allowing it to slowly absorb the water from the ore. Sand type heavy clay, such as old tailings mud, its decantation time will be longer.
The benefits of aged purple sand mud raw material:
One, enhanced its plasticity.
The more the dried mud is allowed to sit, at least one year or more, the better it will stick together and mold into a good form. If the drying time is not sufficient then the mud won't have enough adhesive properties and hence can not be molded properly.
Two, the drying process is also the cooling process of the mortar
For example, the original 3 number of mud burned after long time decaying can be burned into 28 or 29. This is because a long time of decaying, extract minerals in the matured mud to the surface of the mud, thereby reducing the firing temperature.
Over-aging purple sand materials, the purple sand teapots made from them, after firing, will have a very good "water color" for new teapots. Such teapots are also good at being seasoned to bring out the effect and bringing out the "jade quality" of the purple sand teapot.
