The Yixing lion head vase, originally a raw material of purple clay gold sand with a capacity of 460cc, was popular in the late Qing and early Republic. Jiang Anqing, a famous Yixing potter during the late Qing dynasty, rose to fame because of his creation of lion head vases. The interior is made of high-quality purple clay gold sand, baked hard, with a deep purple color.
The Four Symbols (also known as the Four Guardians or Four Gods) are four mythological creatures that appear in Chinese art and literature, particularly during the Han Dynasty. They are said to be associated with the four cardinal directions: east, west, south, and north.
