It is famous for owning a 1800-year-old wild "tea tree king" on He Ma Song Da Black Mountain, known as the "living fossil of tea trees", located in the southern part of Menghai County which borders Myanmar. The area includes ancient tea trees distributed across two pure mountainous townships in Menghai County: Bada and Xiding.

Badaogu Tea Mountain, renowned for having the 1800-year-old "Tea Tree King" wild tea trees in Pianma County is called a living fossil of tea tree. Located at the southern end of Pianma County, bordering Myanmar, it includes an area of ancient tea trees growing in two primitive mountain villages - Badaogu and Xiding - of Pianma County, with a total area of about 500 square kilometres.

Ba Da Gu Tea Mountain has wild tea trees and cultivated ancient tea gardens. The wild tea tree community is scattered in the Qiaoshan Original Forest, with a variety of species, tall trees, and vines climbing up and down, for the Dali tea variety.

Heishan Mountain's elevation is 1760 meters, belongs to subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest, land area of 5 square kilometers, now has been designated as a nature reserve. The trunk diameter of tea trees in Dali can be up to 2.5 meters, and small tea plants (less than 80 cm high) can be seen everywhere. The wild "tea tree king" is located in the middle slope band with dense forest, at an elevation of 1910 meters.

There are 2,162 hectares of artificial cultivation tea gardens, all of which are Pu'er tea species. The altitude ranges from 1,580 to 1,900 meters above sea level. Trees are either deciduous or small evergreen, with a leafy appearance and grayish-brown branches. Plant height is between 0.28 and 0.79 meters, with lateral shoots higher than one meter. Leaf shape is oval, raised on the surface, arching or folding inward, soft in texture, yellow-green in color, and gradually pointed or tail-shaped at the tip, with a wedge-like base. The ancient tea gardens are distributed in scenic forests with loamy soil.

The majority of people in the Batagay Tea Plantation are Zhonglang, with 244 households. It is the largest Blang village and also the most well-preserved Blang village in history and culture. Blang's architecture, language, clothing, customs and lifestyle have all been preserved here.

Changlang Ancient Tea Garden is an ancient tea garden of the Bwa ethnic group. As long as there are old villages in Yunnan, there will be tea gardens. This is a law that people from Yunnan often say: "The people of Pu'er grow tea". The ancient tea gardens in Changlang Village are distributed in the woods near the village, with over 100 mu in size.

Although the tea leaves from Zhanglang Gucha have been sold at a relatively high price, the villagers did not put in too much effort to restore the ancient tea gardens. The reasons for this are twofold: first, there is a lack of labor force; second, the weeds and trees are too deep and the tea plants are too tall making it difficult to harvest. Currently, only two or three teashops from Menghai have set up in Zhanglang, but they do not receive much tea leaves every day. Located 50-60 km away from Menghai county seat, Zhanglang is separated by a series of high mountains and has been less influenced by Han culture. In the villages, many elderly people still cannot speak Mandarin Chinese, making it difficult to understand the history of Zhanglang Village.

Comparing the architecture of temples, Chaprang's Bhot people have reached a high level in their research on building art, painting and Buddhist studies. It is difficult to describe how the Bhot people, using slash-and-burn agriculture methods, created so much surplus wealth to build such magnificent temples. Those interested in Bhot history and culture should visit Chaprang Old Village, there must be many articles to write.

Characteristics of Pu'er tea from Bada Gu Tea Mountain:

Leaf elliptical shape, leaf face bulging, leaf back arching or folding inward, soft leaf texture, yellow-green color, gradually pointed or tail-shaped tip, wedge-shaped base. Taste similar to Bao Zhong tea region, the back of the tongue and the rear part of the upper jaw slightly bitter and astringent, but relatively average tea quality is thin water, there's special aroma in the middle and rear part of the upper jaw. , The flavor of the tea soup fills the throat and tongue, slightly long bitterness, and a hint of astringency. Mild contraction. After three infusions, the smooth sensation gradually appears. A cooling sensation appears after the tongue becomes contracted.

The wild tea tree king, Bai Datian, grows in the tropical rain forest of Batadage Mountain, altitude 1900m, Menghai County. In 1961, a team of researchers from Yunnan University and the Tea Research Institute of Yunnan Province conducted an on-site examination and authentication, determining that this wild tea tree was of Dali species (C.taliensis). The diameter at breast height is 3.2m, and its height is 32.12m.

At the same time, a wild tea tree grove was discovered nearby "Tea King". Currently, the county has 46,000 mu of ancient cultivated tea gardens over 100 years old, with a wild tea tree distribution that is common for more than 1,000 years. They are mostly single stems scattered on mountains at an altitude of about 1500 meters.
