Tea is as different as the people who drink it. Some are crazy about love, and some are crazy about tea. However, a cup of tea is nothing but an attempt to be happy. As long as one enjoys it, there's no harm in pretending. -01- A tea enthusiast went to Old Yang for a chat saying he had been drinking tea for over 20 years, and was now crazy about tea.
Tea tastes different in the hands of different people.
Some people go mad for love, but others are driven by their passion for tea.
However, a cup of tea, is not anything but in search of fun, as long as I enjoy it myself, why worry about appearances.
01
A tea fanatic's obsession
One of the tea friends came over to chat with old Yang and said:
I have been drinking tea for over 20 years and I'm completely addicted to it.
Non-tea drinkers would definitely think he's too pretentious if they drank tea with him. But for those who truly love tea, getting together and drinking it is an ultimate enjoyment.
A tea enthusiast said: He is obsessed with pu-erh, although he can't afford to buy the same old tea that has been recirculated or expensive teas such as Icelandic old trees. Even teas in thousands of dollars can bring him a sense of enjoyment from drinking tea.
But his habit of drinking tea is quite unique. He said:
Good tea is hard to find. When you do come across some good tea, it's generally not something that's usually thrown away lightly. Only when your mood is good and after a clean bath, when you feel especially comfortable, then you can have a cup with a bit of ritual to it.
Before pouring the tea, bowing slightly to show respect for it. Then carefully place the teapot in a special ceramic container and slowly pour water into it. Hold the tea ball with your eyes closed and imagine the aroma of the tea wafting through the tiny holes of the ceramic, as if you are standing amidst a lush forest.
It takes about 10 seconds to pour the tea, and you drink a cup of rinse water and throw away the rest. Dry the tea pot with your hands, bring your nose close to it, take a deep breath, and the fragrance of honey enters your lungs.
The second sip is taken with both hands cradling the cup. A small mouthful is taken, and the tea broth and fragrance are sucked in together. Thus, the tea becomes even more fragrant and delicious.
Let myself go, thinking of nothing at all, one cup after another of hot tea poured into my belly until I am sweating profusely, burn a piece of cinnabar incense. Using the scent of tea and incense intertwined, sing a poem or dance a tune.
As soon as the stuffiness in my chest and my heart's excitement have vanished, it is the feeling of ease I get after drinking tea, although I may feel a bit fatigued, it feels endless enjoyment.
At that moment, she raised her cup and sighed: "Life is like tea. Though it's no longer the spring of youth, at least it's as pure as the first cup."
02
Drinking tea, getting possessed by fire.
Tea connoisseurs say: Drinking tea should have some etiquette.
It may cost a few thousand per pair, but since it's something I use every day, I don't think it's overpriced.
To drink new Longjing green tea, a Yixing teapot is necessary, and each cup and saucer seem to be listening in on the secrets of a thousand-year kiln.
The true tea lover can never be vague about water; even though he lives in a city, his heart remains in the mountains and forests.
Every year during the spring festival when we return home to visit our ancestors' graves, tea enthusiasts will definitely drive up to the source of the reservoir and pick up a clear mountain spring to brew tea.
Enjoying every day until the holiday is over.
But there are people who drink tea and lose their common sense in the process, and even more outrageous practices that normal people can't understand.
Summer, set up a wild survival-style pavilion in the mountains ahead of time, prepare some branches. When it rains heavily, invite three or five tea-obsessed friends, bring tea sets and water boiling utensils, drive to the wilderness, boil water and drink tea.
Watching the misty sky from afar, listening to the dripping raindrops, sipping tea in my cup, lightly inhaling the fragrance of the mountains and fields, feeling the breath of nature. This moment, this scene, I compose a poem.
Lifting the cup, gazing at the tea within it carefully, a moment of stillness and movement give birth to a tranquil flavor. Tea is in the world, people are in the mountains. In this life, drinking tea's most beautiful aspect, the elegance of Wei Jin, is nothing more than this.
Only in such an environment can one truly understand the way of tea and human beings.
Talking about it here, the tea customer still emphasizes:
Drinking tea may seem simple. But drinking good tea is not so easy.
Some people pursue a cup of comfortable tea-drinking, it is a way of drinking tea.
Some people drink tea, sniffing the fragrance of flowers, sipping a smooth soup and enjoying the original flavor of the tea leaves. This is a way to enjoy tea by staying on the surface flavor of tea leaves.
To drink Pu-erh tea, only to enjoy its present taste and flavor, without considering the change of the leaves after ten years, is not knowing tea at all.
Drinking tea is about savoring the flavor of the leaves, listening to the sound of the tea, and appreciating the thoughts of the tea maker. Through this, we can explore the relationship between tea and Taoism, as well as experience a connection with nature and the universe through tea.
Thinking of ten years later, I and tea grow old together, then, tea flavor mellow, drinking a cup, silence surpasses thousands of words.
Some people may say I'm trying too hard to sound sophisticated, but I believe that those who truly understand and appreciate tea will be able to relate to me.
One friend said here, and didn't forget to ask Old Yang a question: do you think I'm also just putting on airs by drinking tea.
As Lao Yang thought, selling Pu'er tea indeed should consider its transformation in ten years. However, his experience is limited and he only stays on the surface level of tea flavors; but as a teahouse owner, he hasn't experienced it yet.
But it can be seen that this tea fan is really fond of tea and willing to share his experience with others about drinking tea.
Just because of this, I'd dare say it's not a pretense, but an actual level.
The Last Word:
Many times we stand on our own grounds judging others' behavior, and drinking tea is even more so.
When people are drinking tea, thinking that understanding life is just pretending. When others get too involved in drinking tea, it's being overly particular. When others burn incense and study the art of tea, it's just pretentiousness.
But a son is not a fish; how can he know the joy of fishes?
We have not had his life experiences and do not know what he thought when lifting a tea cup in his heart, nor can we know what he felt when raising the tea cup.
Life itself is not easy. Many tea enthusiasts just drink tea as a hobby. Loving tea, investing more time and energy in playing with tea, it's nothing but: Even if life has its disappointments, the only genuine enjoyment is when you lift up your teacup.
So what's wrong with someone who loves tea using their heart to appreciate and pursue a higher level of tea appreciation?
A cup of tea is for nothing but a moment's comfort and pleasure. Some people pursue the pleasure of the mouth, while others seek comfort through one cup of tea.
Rather than argue over who is right and wrong about drinking tea, why not learn from the Three-Teas principle of tolerance?
Drink your own tea and live every day happily.
